چکیده

In the field of remote sensing, the unmixing of hyperspectral images is usually based on the use of a mixing model. Most existing spectral unmixing methods, used in the reflective range [0.4-2.5 μm], rely on a linear model of endmember reflectances. Nevertheless, such a model supposes the pixels at ground level to be uniformly irradiated and the scene to be flat. When considering a 3D landscape, such a model is no longer valid as irradiated and shadowed areas are present as well as radiative interactions between facing surfaces. This paper introduces a new mixing model, adapted to urban environments, and which aims to overcome these limitations. This model is derived from physical equations based on radiative transfer theory and its analytic expression is linear-quadratic. Similar models have already been used in the literature for unmixing purpose but without being justified by physical analysis. Our proposed model is validated using a synthetic but realistic European 3D urban scene. Then, simplifications are introduced, based on a study of the different radiative components contributing to the signal in a way to make the model easy to use for spectral unmixing. This paper also shows that the quadratic term cannot be neglected in many cases in urban environments, since it can e.g. range from 15% to 20% of reflectances in canyons.

An Overview of Nonlinear Spectral Unmixing Methods in the Processing of Hyperspectral Data

The hyperspectral imagery provides images in hundreds of spectral bands within different wavelength regions. This technology has increasingly applied in different fields of earth sciences, such as minerals exploration, environmental monitoring, agriculture, urban science, and planetary remote sensing. However, despite the ability of these data to detect surface features, the measured spectrum i...

Using Urban Mixed Land use Measuring Indices And Spatial Statistics Techniques In Urban Sustainable Development Planning (Case Study: Ardabil City)

Introduction: Land use mixing is one of the essential components of the urban landscape in the sustainable development of urban areas and diversity of land uses. The location of urban land-uses has a significant impact on the quality of life and efficiency of services related to different land uses. Mixed land use enables residential, work, shopping, and public services adjacent to each other a...

AN Improved UTD Based Model For The Multiple Building Diffraction Of Plane Waves In Urban Environments By Using Higher Order Diffraction Coeficients

This paper describes an improved model for multiple building diffraction modeling based on the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD). A well-known problem in conventional uniform theory of diffraction (CUTD) is multiple-edge transition zone diffraction. Here, higher order diffracted fields are used in order to improve the result; hence, we use higher order diffraction coefficients to improve a hy...
